About the Author

Kahlil Gibran, Born January 6, 1883, Bsharri, Lebanon Gibran Khalil was a Lebanese American philosophical essayist, novelist, poet, and artist. Gibran’s literary and artistic work has a highly romantic outlook. He was influenced by the Bible and drew inspiration from Friedrich Nietzsche, and William Blake. He excelled in Arabic and English and his writings were based around themes such as love, death, nature, and a longing for the homeland. His work is highly expressive of his deeply religious and mystic nature.
